December is the month of celebration – whether it be the end of year work party, meeting up with friends, or a big Christmas Day spent with loved ones.
It’s also the month of some delicious seasonal fruit and veg. There are a couple of great reasons to focus on what’s in season and tailor your meal plan and groceries accordingly. Firstly, shopping seasonally for your fresh produce will help you wallet (always a good thing during a month of overindulgence and extravagance!) – as there is usually an abundance of these items, the cost is generally lower.
Secondly, seasonal fresh veg just tastes SO much better! It usually comes from a local source rather than having been chilled and shipped from the other side of the world – all the while losing its taste along the way.
