Jess is well-known in Auckland – she has recently opened a beautiful eatery in Herne Bay which serves Atomic Coffee, healthy lunches and baking, and her famous dinners. You can pick up her delicious meals every night of the week and you’ll be guaranteed to get a healthy, tasty, inspired meal on those days when you just can’t be bothered cooking. There are options for paleo and vege and she never compromises on quality or freshness. I’m a huge fan, and an even bigger fan now that I’ve cooked a few meals from her cookbook!

This is a really gorgeous collection – the photos are inviting, the recipes are easy to follow, and the flavour combinations are creative and inspiring. It’s set out into different seasons, which is very handy when you want to cook something using seasonal ingredients – but can be a tiny bit frustrating when you’re flicking back and forth trying to find something for breakfast!

Paleo Beef Lasagne

Who I would buy the book for

Anyone who love cooking and eating delicious and healthy food. The recipes are uncomplicated, but they can take time and concentration and aren’t always quick mid-week dinners. I love spending Sunday afternoon in the kitchen – I go to the markets in the morning then start making things from about 4pm – and this is the perfect book for those kind of days.

Verdict – 9/10
