Driving through the new development at Hobsonville Point, the road winds you down towards the water, and what was once the air force base. The old Seaplane hangar is now home to the Hobsonville Point Farmers Market – voted Best in Auckland (2012) and Best Suburban Market (2014).

Enter the Hangar and the bustling foodies market is full of friendly stall owners and their delicious wares, live music, and plenty of shoppers. Approximately 40 permanent wooden structures have been built to house stalls, and week-in week-out there are regulars that you can count on.

As an almost-local to the area, Leah has become a fan of heading down to Hobsonville on a Sunday morning. Sundays are the traditional market day in this area and you will find more stalls – although the market is open both weekend days from 9am – 1pm. There is plenty of parking and it’s even dog friendly!

Free Range Wine Co. – if you want to indulge in a weekend tipple, then an organic wine crafted in small batches from carefully selected organic vineyards, grown in the best regions of New Zealand would have to be the best choice!

Salash Delicatessen – lovers of salami and chorizo rejoice – Salash is the first and only producer of proper, truly authentic, salami in New Zealand. All products are gluten free with no starter cultures, additives or chemicals in any of their products.
